Swingbridge Media is the most experienced community media organisation in the North East.
It has produced over 200 films that celebrate local communities, promote community engagement and support the role of local people in shaping policy and decision making.
We believe in combining high production values with creative community participation.

Documentaries
High quality documentaries have been an essential feature of our work over the years.
Films such as An English Estate for Channel Four, From Brno to Benwell for the Community Channel and the studio based documentary Where Shall We Go? about Holocaust survivors - have won awards and praise from national audiences. We pioneered long term documentation projects charting change in communities undergoing regeneration. Documenting the Change projects have run in Benwell, East Gateshead, and Grainger Town.
We've just finished a year long documentation on our film about Tynemouth Station and its restoration.

Community media gives many opportunities to people to learn core skills in digital media and working together as a crew help develops interpersonal skills. Sessions can also be a way of expressing new ideas and explore experiences.
We can offer one-off sessions or short training courses in media production skills.
