Tyneside Cinema talk and screenings
Thank you to all the people who came to listen to Hugh Kelly of Swingbridge Video reflect on the changes on Tyneside over the past thirty five years. Film extracts looked at areas like Scotswood, the Meadowell and East Gateshead and themes of deindustrialisation, poverty and culture were explored. Can co-produced cultural activities using art and digital media benefit local people facing increased levels of poverty, benefit changes and cuts to public funding?
This talk was part of the Remaking Society project involving academics and practitioners exploring current arts practice and social change. Read about Remaking Society here.
